    Engaging new prospectus and signage design

The Client

Priestley College is a sixth form and community college in Warrington, Cheshire and has seen significant investment recently with the addition of a £1.5 million technology centre. The college also offers many adult courses and training and is an associate college of the University of Salford. Each year we help create their Prospectus to attract and inform new students applying to the college.

Creating college prospectuses that engage and inspire

Project Overview

Creating College prospectuses that engage with school leavers has been a key factor in our work for Priestley College for a number of years. Working closely with the college to promote Priestley College as an exciting and innovative place to learn, we have designed and printed a number of striking prospectuses that appeal to potential students, parents and stakeholders alike.

The 2021 Prospectus

The 2021 prospectus provided a sharp, eye-catching design utilising the College’s corporate colours with a combination of navy blue, grey and turquoise to create a striking colour palette. Graphically the prospectus features a geometric diamond pattern that takes inspiration from the diamond shapes found in the College’s logo.

Striking design

To further enhance Priestley’s strong college brand we wanted to give the 2021 prospectus striking new colour palette. This is set off first by the dark blue cover and creative student portraits with the navy blue, grey and turquoise complementing the document throughout. The whole prospectus also benefits from exciting and dynamic photography alongside the copy.

Clear course details

As is essential we wanted to provide clear and concise course information with each section colour coded for easy access. Helping to break up the content here we also added great photography related to specific courses on the page itself. Each course has also got a unique QR code for any student to quickly view the course details online via a smartphone camera.

Close attention to detail

Used as both as a way to frame images and as a background pattern the diamonds provided a method of connecting the prospectus design to Priestley’s branding. Print wise, we chose uncoated stocks to give the prospectus a tactile feel. The front and rear covers were enhanced by using silver foil on the College logo, making it stand off against the navy blue and adding a real touch of elegance. The College were keen to maintain an upmarket appearance with the prospectus and the subtle use of silver foiling really helped achieve this.
